Shogi is a traditional Japanese boardgame, played by millions of people worldwide. It’s similar to chess, except for a few small rules which make the game infinitely more complex; for instance, you are allowed to play a piece you captured from your opponent as your own.

WASABI had Shuma and Chris from the Sydney Shogi Club come in to teach our members the basics of shogi. It was definitely difficult to learn , but it was lots of fun and a great way to experience this unique Japanese culture.
